T'ai Chi Chih®* is a series of nineteen movements and one pose that balance and circulate the chi, or the vital energy that flows within each of us. It is actually quite distinct from the T'ai Chi that most people are familiar with: T'ai Chi Chih is not a martial arts-based discipline, but rather a moving meditation that generates health and serenity.
T'ai Chi Chih (TCC) is easy to learn, and it can be practiced by people of all ages and ability levels. The slow and gentle movements can be done standing or from a sitting position.
T'ai Chi Chih was developed in 1974 by Justin Stone, a former lecturer in East Asian Philosophy at the University of New Mexico. "The aim," Stone says, "is attaining joy through movement. T'ai Chi Chih can be a loving, as well as healing, experience."

About Lorraine Lapine - T'ai Chi Chih has been part of my daily spiritual practice since 1997, and I have been an accredited instructor since 1999. Since then, I have taught classes to individuals as well as to groups of as many as 35 students. I have experience teaching all kinds of population, from middle-schoolers to healthy adults, to people with disabilities and seniors with limited mobility. I am especially interested in teaching those who are active in their health and well-being, and who are looking for new tools to pursue it. Besides teaching in Kansas City, I have taught workshops and led practices in my home province of Quebec and as far away as Italy.

I am also an active member of the T'ai Chi Chih community. I attend two to three TCC events accross the country every year so that I can continually grow as a teacher and continue my education. I am always developing and sharing new techniques to make the learning process for my students as clear and as beneficial as possible.
